Root Canal Treatment

When a tooth becomes badly decayed or infected, a root canal treatment procedure is required in order to preserve, repair and maintain a tooth in function. Usually the dentist will evaluate an x-ray and conduct vitality tests before determining if an root canal treatment is required.

1. Diagnosis

  • Vitality Test - An electronic pulp test (EPT) is used to come to a diagnosis on the health of the blood supply + nerve fibres of a particular tooth

  • X-ray or CBCT

2. Sedation or Local Anesthesia (LA)

3. Rubber Dam Isolation

4. Root Canal Procedure (1 or 2 visits)

5. Final Restoration - Crowns / Onlays
